While there is little information available on Swayze High School’s history, although it does appear on several topographical maps. There were many African American high schools in Monroe and the surrounding land with Swayze High School being one of them. Swayze High School appears, clearly labeled, on topo maps from 1957, 1994, and 1999. The school is flagged in topo maps from 2015 and 2019 as well. The school stands extant and in use in a neighborhood as Swayze Elementary School.
