Sunrise High School
Plaquemines Parish
Sunrise High School opened in 1954, and remained in operation through integration. In 1990, the old school was renovated and reopened as Buras Middle School. The middle school closed after Katrina, and the building was demolished in the spring of 2010. In 2013, the new- construction South Plaquemines High School opened on the site.
