Richland Parish

In 1920, Richland Parish Training School was founded by the B. B. & O. Society, a Baptist organization, and the Richland Parish School Board after the B. B. & O. donated land in the St. John community. The school moved to its current location in Delhi, Louisiana in 1951 and the school was renamed Ester Toombs High School after a beloved teacher who taught in the parish for 45 years. Even after integration, Ester Toombs High School is still extant and in use. While the name “Ester Toombs School” still can be found on the school’s entrance, the school's present name is Delhi Middle School.
