Ouachita Parish

Boley High School has a resilient history and is located in West Monroe, Louisiana. The land for Boley Elementary School was bought in 1866 by Morris Willis, a formerly enslaved man, and his descendants later used the land to build the elementary school. In 1952, a high school was built on the land and Boley Elementary School became known as Boley High School. The school was also known as Richardson High School. Through integration, the high school students were consolidated and the school became an elementary school. Unfortunately the school burned down completely in April 2019, but a new school was built on the same site. The significance of the Boley name is still memorialized in Boley Elementary School, as it has been rebuilt and continues to pass on its legacy.
